GILBERT – Gilbert’s business community will come together on December 1st to raise food and funds to benefit the United Food Bank at a unique networking event hosted by the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by The Sign Guys.

Last year, United Food Bank distributed 8,452 food boxes to at-risk children and families through their internal food box program and their Emergency Food Box provider agencies distributed more than 816,300 food boxes which assisted more than 1,500,000 people.

“It is so much fun to network with the purpose of giving back to the community,” said Kelly Schager of The Sign Guys. “United Food Bank is an outstanding organization that reaches thousands of East Valley families. I hope many businesses join us to raise money at this event.”

The Connecting For A Cause networking event will be held on Thursday, December 1st from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Vine Expressions, 1030 S. Gilbert Road, # 103, in Gilbert. General admission is $25; Chamber member admission is $5 with early registration or $10 at the door. Attendees are asked to bring three canned food and/or non-perishable food items for donation to help reach our goal of 500 items.

Food item donations will be collected in the GameTruck and donors can try out their golf swing alongside the virtual Tiger Woods. To register or for more information, contact the Gilbert Chamber at (480) 892-0056 or visit their website, http://www.gilbertaz.com.
